Well a buddy and I went to his lease this weekend down in Coleman and man was it HOT! Saw a few deer but more critters and snakes than anything... Got a few Kills though! The porcupine was the craziest thing I had ever seen!

Why would you kill a porcupine? Was he coming right at you?

They chew the bark off hardwood trees and can hurt a dog. I've killed a couple of them. No remorse at all.

When your bird dog looks like this, you start whacking porcupines. Just don't waste your time thinking that they are good eating, its a lie.

The vet in Clyde told me about a porcupine that was running around in his town and having regular encounters with folk's dogs. Hardly a week went by that he didn't get a couple of dogs to work on. Really ticked him off when somebody shot it. The porcupine was paying his electric bill. grin

Some people haven't been able to tell the difference between killing and hunting.

There ya go.......... pretty sad in itself, but then to post pics and brag about it on the web doesn't make the rest of the members look the best.... Understand if stuff is over populated and causing disease etc... But to kill something just to help justify paying for a lease, license, etc... or just because you can... or don't have the gumption to pay attention to where you are walking or leash your dog (or teach it better) so you don't step on a snake or the dog don't go after something it ain't supposed to is no excuse and nothing that should be even remotely associated with a hunter....

You have convinced me. Next time I go quail hunting, I will make sure I keep my bird dog on a leash.

Na..... just teach them that quail have feathers and fly and a porcupine is much bigger and don't fly... Maybe hang some pics in the kennel.....

I'm having second thoughts about posting that video of me bashing a baby seal.
