Looking to buy some land in either Jack or Stephens county. I've never hunted in this area... Only in south Texas.
How is the hunting in these two counties compared to each other?
Pics of deer taken or game cam pics would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I can't compare the counties since I've only hunted Stephens county but here are some of the deer I've seen this year before the rut.... http://www.texashuntingforum.com/forum/u...cks#Post4758449There are plenty of big deer around, plus hogs, turkey, bobcats, coyotes, etc. Great place to be!

I have hunted both and there are some good bucks in both counties. In my opinion there is not many giant deer In these areas. I think the best places in north texas are along rivers and major creeks. Just my 2 cents I've hunted the area from aspermont to wise and just north for many years. I've also hunted in comstock and as far as numbers go it was way better, but I think there are bigger deer up here. Just have to find the right piece of property. If I had to choose between the 2 I would go with Stephens.

Stephens has some great deer, so does Jack. But Stephens has produced bigger deer on an annual basis. Larger landholdings is the reason IMO.
Life is too short, as is. Don't chance it. Don't text and drive.

Definitely bigger and more deer in Stephens County. Unless your buying land from my grandfather in law in Jacksboro.

IMO the deer are comparable enough to find the best deal possible. Whichever county it happens to be in.

I would think taxes are less in Stephens.
