130 grain Sierra ProHunter, published load of IMR 4831 in Winchester brass with a Winchester LR primer.
Accurate, dependable and deadly on anything I've used them for from raccoons to big hogs.

These days I use just the H4831sc, and 59 grains of it. Note that it is over max in some load books, so work up to it. IMR 4831 is faster, so use less of that one, and...work up to it.

60-62 grs of H4831 has been the classic load in the 130/.270 since the Second World War. Jack O'Connor and others have sung its praises.
Buy a pound of H4831 and go from there. Many have tried to emulate, but few have succeeded......

I was working up a load for a 270 yesterday. I ended up with 58.5 gr. of 4831. shooting a nosler ballistic tip 130gr. I could cover the 3 shot group with a dime. no pressure issues. The only thing I did not get done was to chronograph them.

I run plain old 130 gr. Hornady Interlocks or Rem Corelokt's over 59.0 gr. of IMR 7828. I also use 4831, it just depends on which powder I happen to have the most of at the time.

If you try RL 19 and 130 Barnes 58.0-65.0 grains 2925-3217 FPS you may never hunt with anything else!
