Rockwall County Monster with a crossbow 186 2/8 Gross. Some of you may recognize this guy from "The Professionals" on the Outdoor Channel. More info and the story on it on the Native Outdoors Facebook page. This was on low fence and Awesome Deer no matter where you hunt.

Great Deer, but there was/is a high fence ranch on Hwy 276 between poetry and quinlan, used to be called Cullens Ranch. They had some great deer out there. It was sold a few years back and is not being used for hunting. I have seen some great "wild" deer off 1565, south of 276. The river bottom does hold some very big deer. Congrats on the harvest. Just my 2 cents.

That deer isn't pen raised and released regardless, there might be a few thf'ers with few years history on him, even before both those counties opened for hunting. whistle

Many on here wouldn't believe the caliber of deer in certain parts of north Texas. And for some, I think they just prefer to believe there are no big free range deer...the poor misguided fools grin

doesn't really matter when it's all over Facebook. For the sake of members who may hunt in the area, we will conclude it is a random deer that escaped from a HF place that releases breeder bucks. You can tell by it's droppy ears and brownish color.

Well if you want to get technical nothing north of king is since the only per native herd in the US is the king.

That's a native NTX deer, get over you hating and your cheap shots you take on ever deer over 160, its getting old

Never any 200" deer shot north of there at the hag, or grayson or west of there on other COE guess all those where pen raised and released also.

Some of the biggest free range deer killed each year in Texas are in Poetry, most just don't hear about them. As mentioned by McKinney, huge bucks roaming the Sabine River bottoms and there are still lots of big deer on what was once the Cullen Ranch. Huffines Group bought the ranch and not sure what it goes by now. Heard hunting was only allowed by family and friends. Have some buddies that still don't believe this deer to have been killed in Rockwall Co. but the guys at Native and my taxidermist who know him personally claim it to be true. Great deer!
