The M&P 9mm compact, and how do you carry it?

IWB what type/brand or OWB type/brand?

40c, IWB, Don Hume. It is tight on the hand gun and may require two hands. However, the it is with me and not in the glovebox...

not a mp but either a g19 or a compact 1911. I use a milt sparks vm2. There is nothing that beats this holster it is one of the best. Nothing I have tried was more comfortable or easier to carry with. Just get ready for the wait on one.

The M&P compacts in 9/40/357 are the same size....any holster that would fit one of the calibers would fit them all....i personally own a M&P 357 Sig compact and it is going to become my primary choice for concealed carry but i have not worked it into the mix yet and don't have a holster or carry method ...these guns are the same thickness of the full size M&P's with abbreviated slides and grips

Not my thread, but I was watching it. I'm a .357 mag guy moving to semi. That's good input - thank you.

Marc

Vern, I handled my first M&P 9mm and it was love at first fondle!

Sorry, but That's a fact Jack!

Yes, I understand this. My question/need for info is...
How do you conceal your M&Pc, IWB/OWB and is it much snappier than a FS M&P9.......

I have a Shield 9mm and I am fine with my 2 fat finger grip.
Was also wondering if there is more to hang onto with the Compact vs the Shield.

May be really thinking more in the line for my wife also on the 9c.

I have not handled a compact with the frame size of the 9/40/357.

Hey Vern, Sigs have become BORING! Nothing ever happens to them.
Load and shoot, Repeat...

M&P, you have to tinker with the fire control group if you want a nice trigger.
This thing about lower bore axis may have some validity. Since I don't shoot GLOCK's very well due to grip angle, M&P is next best thing especially since I am on a retiree's income..
I am not pounding a beat anymore and I must provide my own Arms and Ammo. The price point is real good too.

Randy - I own/shoot a FS 40 and a compact 40. Obviously the FS is easier to hang on to, but I don't notice any issues with the compact. I posted some pics a while back of the success I had shooting trophy rats with the compact (left my .22in the truck). I don't think the 9mm would present any problems, especialy if you can shoot the smaller Shield.

Regarding the Don Hume holster, I wear it in the small of the back IWB or outside on hip. I'll repeat it's really tight on the pistol...

IWB white hat with my M&P9c. Not real happy with the white hat vs the crossbreed supertuck's I have. The WH is very noisy and hasn't gotten quieter even though they said it would. Looking for an OWB option for winter when it's easier to conceal. Let me know if find an OWB you like. And I always carry behind the hip, 4-5 o'clock.

You read it right. It's a clip-on. If worn with a heavy belt IWB, it draws properly. If worn outside with no pressure on it and with a wimpy belt, it is possible to "draw" the whole package. Lovely. No?

Was actually looking at a DeSantis mini slide. Looks like it will ride a little higher. How's the retention on the open top Desantis holsters?

If the holster has a tension screw this can be tightened. Also molded very tight.
No screw, it will stay stiff for years and hold the weapon for years before it gets too soft.

M&P9 full size.
