Although the calendar says it should be close, no rut seen this week. I got a mature buck in Knox Co Wed, he was feeding in a wheat field when I grunted him in. Does all over the field, he paid no attention. (as did 2 other bucks earlier). Son in law shot a nice 12 yesterday in Baylor Co....he came in to grunt call, passed up some does, and wound up going to feeder.
I'm guessing a week to 10 days and we should be heating up on rutting.

Been out twice in Baylor so far this month. Only seeing light chasing by young bucks so far. Some bigger bucks starting to get more territorial with the younger boys when the girls are around. Heading back out Wednesday and am expecting the deer to start moving as the week progresses. We'll see.....

I use Thanksgiving as a general rule for the peak. Could be a week before, during, or week after....but we're close.

Sounds about right. Have you, or are you going to post pictures of you and your sons bucks?

I think they are rutting harder than you think here in Knox county. My deer activity has dramatically increased in the past week and the buck I killed Saturday had definitely been rutting. I also rattled one in last Thurday for a buddy right on the Knox/Baylor line. I saw a mature buck tailing a doe as far back as Nov 7th and have game cam pics of a buck that has been fighting and already broke off one side. The last few years has not shown a "typical" rut. The deer seem to be at it more at night and, possibly due to the warmer weather, the bucks don't seem to show as much interest during the day.
Just my 2 cents
