I have an opportunity to pick up a Winchester 94 trapper in .44 mag. it's in excellent shape. has the saddle ring and is a PRE safety model. no tang safety, and no cross bolt safety.
wondering what the value is?
at the same time, what's the value of the same gun with the safeties?
thanks I advance!

Traded for one a while back in the .45 LC and it was tough to find a real value but, there were a couple on some of the auction sites going for about $800. That was pretty soon after The M94 was discontinued and they may have been running high for the older ones.

I'd say 700-800. Crossbolts will bring about 100 less, and tang safety should bring about 700-800.

I picked up a 94 AE in .44 mag last year for $600 and thought it was a pretty good deal. Rifle was flawless, but does have the crossbolt safety.
