Drove out by your place this morning looking for some geese that had been using a wheat field. Saw a nice 8 point with a doe.

I'm still in here. Just screwed up. Got bored and decided to go to the other side of my place. Drove around for an hour, then came back to my morning stand to pick up some stuff. The buck I've been wanting was under the feeder. Took a shot free handed and think I clean missed. About to head into the brush just to make sure.
Hoping it was a miss as I'm not finding any blood where he was standing.
Wish me luck.

Can't find a speck of blood, hair, nothing. So mad at myself. I was having a hard time steadying the gun and rushed the shot when I thought he was bolting. Nice looking 10 with a kicker. Would be my biggest off this property most likely.

Kenny, Your not saying you left your stand after an hour 1 1/2 hrs or so...are ya??? Look at the bright side, maybe you ran him over to my place Wish you luck getting him, I bet he will be back and probably didn't even realize what happened,,,,maybe. BTW, I changed my timers twice so far, the deer adjusted faster than I did, sooo.

Just made a bad, rushed shot and glad I missed versus just wounding him. I don't think he would have come to the feeder if I didn't get out. Told the pipeline guys I was hunting and they left. After they left, I figured I'd go look around a by and come back. Just didn't expect him there when I walked back around. I didn't trip the feeder and there wasn't any corn there for him so he hadn't been there long. There is a scrape right next to the feeder so I imagine he was checking that.
Those pipeline guys would have been 50 yards behind him though on the other side of a grove of trees from me. Those folks really ought to notify land owners before showing up on a property. Just another in a long list of issues I've had with Devon over the years, but that's another story. I was nice to the guy as they were just dong their jobs, but they really disrupted my morning. Oh well, hope I can get back up there in the next couple of days.
That's the first buck, other than culls, that I've pulled a trigger on in 5 years on that property. Hope it's not another 5 before the next one.

Back in the stand. Hunted most of the day. Deer were everywhere this morning prior to lst and I could see them very well in the moon. Saw the biggest bodied sway-back buck I've ever seen but couldn't make out his headgear. Definitely a nice rack. Watched the 10 I missed last week chase a doe but well out of range. Glad to know I really did miss him.
Sat almost all day I this heat then filled a couple of feeders. Saw a massive 10 bedded down with a doe while driving but couldn't get a shot on him through the trees. Recovering him would have had me on here asking for help as he was on the middle ridge of a fingered canyon.
Busy day tomorrow, so I won't pull a trigger unless its something special tonight. Started to head home but decided to sit since I'm already here.
Wind has changed out of the north, though its very calm. Hoping to see some movement soon. Last deer I've seen moving was at 9:30 this morning.

I've got a spike running a doe towards me. Hope they get close and big boy shows up.
Around 9 hours in the stand so far today and haven't had a thing check the feeder yet. They cleaned it out all night though.
Good luck Spencer.

I'm just south of there near the oak hill ranch. Some of my friends live on that road where it meets 51 and they kill some nice bucks. Good luck to you it is going to have to be a big one for me to shoot here at my house I like to watch them and let my grandad get one every year. I also have a ranch in cotton dale on rush creek been seeing a lot of nice bucks around chasing does.

I've got young kids and drove straight home at dark to kiss them goodnight, so I couldn't really update.
Uneventful night. Saw two bucks, 800 yards apart in opposite directions, when it was too dark to get a good look. Both were moving pretty fast.
Didn't have a single deer come to the feeder in daylight and looking at my gamecam pics, they haven't hit it since Thursday in daylight. Full moon and no clouds are the likely reason.
Seeing better bucks this year than I can ever remember. I've been very critical of AR's, but I might be changing my mind.

I love the AR's it helps the young ones make it a little longer in these highly populated areas.
