I like the idea. I would recommend adding more brush. Put brush on it until you think you are good, then put twice as much. You have already done the bulk of the work, do a little more and really reap the benefits.

Went Friday and Saturday morning, got 4 both mornings, redheads and gadwalls, I need more brush on it for sure!!! I was the only green thing in the water. Looks better now that brush has turned brown!!!
