Any truth to what I've always heard.... If a doe has a fawn with her that means she is not ready yet.

Thoughts?

Most of time it means she hasn't been chased and bred yet.

Usually, the doe will leave the fawn when she's ready and has the buck. The buck will stay with her for a couple of days. Once she's bred, she will return to her fawn. A buck fawn on the other hand will be ran off from his own mother, not to return at all.
I have actually seen a doe fawn when it's mother re-joined her. It was kinda funny. While on stand, I kept having this doe fawn hang around my stand for almost 2 days. On the afternoon of the 2nd day, her mom met back up with her. I was wondering where mom was. Didn't know if she was shot, hit by a car or what. But when mom showed back up, that little fawn went crazy, running around in circles, bucking and kicking, just tickled to death to have mom back. Made me laugh out loud. Then I said, "Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, mom has been out getting her some"!!!! grin

Fawns, buck or doe will be with the doe after she is bred. Her hocks will be stained if she is bred.
