Deer are makeing there rubs and scrapes still haven't seen any chacing. Out of 6 guys this weekend not one buck came out to any stand. We seen a cpl does and a coyote down. Slow weekend but back at it this weekend and so on.

still slow for us in emory too. I still think the rut is a couple weeks off. Keep at it.

We are just down 49 from you on Sand Country Road. The bucks on camera were still running together last weekend.

I hunted just east of Smithland where Gesthemane road crosses for 8 years, last being 2008/2009. I think there are 3 ruts in that area. I was squirrel hunting and videod a boss 8 point dogging a doe in the middle of January. Took my best buck, a 136" busted 10 on December 4/2004. You just never know when they are going to come cruising by in that part of the world. New Year's Day, 2003, had 4 bucks chasing a doe all around me for an hour. Already filled tag by then.

But you are in a prime area, that's for sure. If I hadn't moved from Longview, I'd still be hunting that neck of the woods. Good luck this season.
