Has anyone used Hornady American Whitetail 308 Ammo? If so please post your experience with it. Looking for some good ammo and need to sight in my AR 10.

I haven't used 308, but I have used 270. It was just as accurate at the range as Hornady Custom ammo. I have not used it for deer yet, so I'll be interested to see other's comments.

I haven't used any but its their BTSP bullet and Ive shot that bullet a fair amount with great results.

They Hornady BTSP is the only thing my granddad will load in .30 caliber. He feels like its the best bullet for the money right now. And he's shot more deer than I've ever thought about so I tend to take his advice

Sorry I dont have a 308 either, but ,I have a 25-06 that loves the 117gr BTSP, needed a new box and got the 117grSST and it didnt like em. Got the American Whitetail's and up ... Shot a buck last weekend and it left a great blood trail.

My wife shot hers last wknd and I shot mine this morning, both in .243. Put a hole all the way through big enough to put my fist in. I use Remington core loc in my 7mm mag, but I'd shoot the Hornady Whitetails in .243 at a moose. Try it, you will thank me.

Isn't it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back everything is different.

I shot a box of it through my Sig 716 pre season and wasn't impressed with the accuracy. However, I have a 16" barrel and most factory ammo is not as accurate out of my rifle due to head spacing. I haven't fired it at an animal, but the SST bullets have a greater ballistics coefficient than the BTSP's. I'm sure it will knock down a deer without issues though.
