Should be getting out of work here soon. Wondered if it would be a bad idea to go drop some flex corn under my feeder, grab my game cam card and reset the timer on my feeder? I don't wanna spook or leave my scent.. really doubt it would harm anything just wanted others opinions as i will be out there in less than 10 hours. . thanks

I have filled feeders on Friday and shot a deer under it on Saturday morning. But we are at our place often, the deer are used to our activity in and around the place.

This is in the back of a somewhat residential area.. and off a creek with subdivisions all around lol. Its miles of woods on the creek and plenty of deer. I shot my 9 last week the morning after going out there.. just curious on peoples experience. I would rather go out there knowing what's been coming to the feeder but at the same time rather keep my scent out of the woods and just dumb it out a hour before day break.. bah I don't know. Screw it ill go out there when I finish the lathe work on this part I guess. Lol

I would go on out there. Scent 10 hours before the hunt has to be better than 1 hour...

you're thinkin too much. don't try to outsmart the deer. they'll adjust to your preferences.
I don't always shoot deer, but when I do, I prefer B&C's. I don't always shoot ducks, but when I do, I prefer banded ducks.

While your there spread it around more than just under feeder. I have a lot better results just sprinkling corn around and down road as I'm leaving out. See probably twice the deer this way, rather than just feeder alone.

yea, i made it about 15 foot straight line where my shot is, but my hunting lane is 45 yards to feeder, woods all around and this is like a crazy opening in the middle of thick woods off a pipe line.. Ill upload a pic of the ONLY deer I had all week on camera, rifle season starts, I take my nine, the 2 ILLEGAL 8 points disapeared as did the 6 pt and couple of 4 pts.. seems I have a yearling Doe and her sister and mom are no where to be found. Hopefully this smell of that feed goes out and about tonight so they will come hammer it.

You need to level your feeder and ANCHOR THOS LEGS GOOD. That one leg will slide into that gully and dump your feeder. It won't take more than light rain or a deer bumping that leg and it will be gone.

Corn is a powerful drug to deer, like kids and candy, many times they ignore the danger to get the food

Is that some-sort-of splint on the legs of that feeder? I also like the water-proofer on the lid. I have to varmint and livestock proof my feeders. I have'nt had a feeder on a place without "corn-thieves" in years.

Yes.. yes it is a water proofer. Stupid coons jumping off the trees on to the top of it and ate holes all in the plastic lid.... So I stuffed it with empty corn bag, cover with trash bag then cover lid with trash bag and reapply.. lol. And those "splints" you see are for the coons and squirrels.. its tack strip tie strapped to the poles and axle grease above and below.. has helped big time!

If you see the picture above isn't like I scared anything off anyways. No deer sightings at all!
