New guy here. Went out twice this past spring and ended up empty handed. So I need to get them this fall! Any tips?

i would wait until spring. Fall hunting is hard to call them in, you just have to look for sign and pattern their movements, then be in the right place at the right time.

you can also try to bust up a flock if you find one, then sit and wait for them to locate each other. calling with locator yelps to get one back to you. I have tried this once and it didnt work out for me. but i have heard others are very successful.

Fall turkeys can be easy targets. There are basically two ways I go about to kill them aside from picking one off at 100 or more yards with a rifle. Shooting with a rifle just doesn't seem too sporty to me.The first way is to get a flock scattered. You choose how to do that but once they are scattered they will get back together. Sometimes within 10-20 minutes and sometimes it maybe an hour or more but they will regroup. The secret here is scatter and get in close and wait until you hear some turkey talk and call them in. Not too hard if you can sit still and call. The next way is to pattern where they go and ambush them. On my lease there is a gap in a fence line that turkeys use every morning and evening. I have a very brushed in ground blind about 25 yards off that gap. I could hunt that blind and kill a turkey almost any day I want to. There are other places that I know where turkeys will be and what time they are there. Once you know that set up an ambush point and wait. I have also killed a few nice bucks over the years while sitting and waiting on turkeys to show.

Is there a regular time , like morning that they show up around the feeder?
