Slipped out of work early and Got to my pop-up blind yesterday evening fairly early in the afternoon. Had a few small bucks come out almost instantly but nothing promising. After an hour or so four does enter the pasture just in front of me. They hung around till just before sunset and started to move away at 80 yards past a small overgrown clump of trees and brush. Just as the last doe leaves my sight they all run back in the direction in which they had come from. Something was up. This big ten came following them from that small brush clump. As the does circled away he followed at a fast trot. I threw the rifle in the bog-pod and put my cross hairs on him. I grunted, grunted again, but he wasn't stopping. I had a small window of opportunity as he began to pick up the pace following the does quartering away from me. I held my breath and squeezed what i felt was a damn fine shot off. I didn't see anything after the recoil. I left the blind almost instantly for it was 23 minutes before LST ended and i wanted to find blood, if there was any to find. Approaching the area where i marked the deer standing from the blind i could see rack sticking from the brush. Felt great! Ten points and 16" wide. Hard to see a couple points from the pics. sorry. Any guesses on score would be greatly appreciated. Happy Hunting yall.
