What are your opinions? Seems like there are some smoking deals on them right now. Is it because they suck or just getting rid of the old stock before the new stock comes in?

I have a Minox ZA5 3-15x50 BDC, that I got from SWFA off their samplelist for $299. To say I am impressed is a vast understatement. I would put it Equal to my Zeiss Conquest, easily, I really can tell zero difference in them in regard to clarity. I will say it seems to draw in a bit more light than the Conquest.
All in all I am sold on them for now. I have it on my 7mm mag and we will see what the long term is. But for now it is clear, tracks dead on, and three dead hogs early early last Sunday morning makes me give the ZA5 2 thumbs up.
I did have reservations about it initially until I talked to Skylar at SWFA, he put my fears to rest quickly.

I have contemplated getting one myself and here is what I've found. They are the same Schott glass as the Conquest, have a lifetime warranty, assembled in the US (I think) and are an American Company. And after reading various forums they are not cheap in Europe. It will only be a matter of time before they are expensive in the US after popularity takes over.
And a hunting buddy just bought two and he loves them so far.

We must have got vastly different scopes cuz the one I just got done shooting didn't come anywhere close to equaling to my vortex much less a zeiss. Its not a bad scope just not what I was hoping it would be.

I've got a ZA-3 and while it's a great scope, I don't think it's any better than a mid priced Vortex and not as good as a Zeiss. But, I got it for a helleva great price and enjoy it. I won't ever sell the scope, but might keep bumping it for better glass.

I have two 1. za5 3-15-50 illuminated reticle with side focus(mounted on Browning 243 varmint killer.) 2. za5 2-10-50 (mounted on a Winchester 25-06) I really like them so far the only thing I wish I would have done different is getting two 3-15-50's because the 2 power is just too low as with all two power scopes you can see the end of your barrel. The 15 power is really nice when glassing game from long distances. You won't be disappointed.
