The rattlesnake in Sniper's photo is a massasuaga. Usually less than 2' long so they are sometimes hard to see. Where did you kill it?

I don't care if it's poisonous or not, that thing looks vicious!
I don't always shoot deer, but when I do, I prefer B&C's. I don't always shoot ducks, but when I do, I prefer banded ducks.

Good night! I though the snakes started hibernating already I don't think they hibernate in this state.... maybe up on the Canadian.... had a dog struck in the tongue on Jan 1, 1974.... at Killeen, can't forget it. They may go in for a while...but on a warm sunny day (60 degrees plus)they come out and sun... Someone on here will know more about this than me. My experience.

Good night! I though the snakes started hibernating already Back around Jan 1987, I was rabbit hunting with my uncle down on the bayou. One of my pups found a snake sunning itself in a sunbeam. The morning had been cold too. So southern snakes probably don't hibernate cause it usaully warms up pretty good later in the day.

Whatever it is it looks poisonous with the triangle shaped head!

Would have been a dead snake either way.... I'd lean this way!
