Looked at a new A5 that my dad picked up and it looks like a very well designed gun. Only problem is they dont make it in a lefty. I shoot a lefty SBE 2 and I love it. I just wish us wrong handers had a few more options.

BPS. Bottom eject = southpaw friendly!

Ithaca. Bottom eject or SXS/OU

I'm lefty and have been shooting right handed guns my whole life. I've never been hit by a shell. I don't think it's worth the extra for a lefty gun.

I think the biggest thing is loaded with your off hand. I'm right handed but left eye dominant. My old man taught me to shoot lefty from the get go. Like you I've been doing it my whole life, no problems. But then again loading right handed is natural to me.

I don't notice ejected shells either. I have stung my eyes with the gunpowder blast before. That's the last time I shot from a moving vehicle... nuts No, IGWs, not at a game animal.

The only time I've had problems shooting right handed guns is goose hunting on the prairie. Laying on my back shooting straight up will get some powder in my right eye.

I agree on the right handed loading. I don't know if I could even get shells into a lefty gun. That said, if I ever see a decent price on a lefty sbe2, I'd buy it.

I have had left and right handed guns and no problem except the safty. If you get the new fake A5 you can switch the safty around to left hand, that's what I did

I went with the SBE2 back in the day because the safety is at the back of the trigger guard. Makes it easy to push it to fire with my thumb.

The more I think about it, if I switched the safety around it would probably do more harm than good at this point. Old dog, new trick.

I'm a lefty and used a Remington 1100 with lefty safety for years. Switched to Browning BPS a few years ago. Very lefty friendly.

I've been able to switch the safety on every gun I've got, including the franchi affinity.

I'm so use to right handed guns that when I finally did try and hunt with a lefty 1100 my uncle got this year, I would have it on fire then push it to safety when birds came and I'd miss getting to shoot. I lasted about 15 minutes before I went back and got my gun. It's hard switching from a right handed safety to a left handed one.

I'm a righty and shoot a lefty SBE2. (Got a great deal on it) I switched the safety around after the first season because I just couldn't get used to it. But never had any problems other than that

Same problem. Try Tri Star they have a L/H Camo Gas operated Duck Gun. I bought their 28 ga R/H which is well made and pretty but had to glue the safety or keep depressing it as I shot. Also the Benelli Nova mounts well left handed and the safety is in front. You can probably pick one up used for $350-$400, but the Tri Star is about $ 600 or a little more. I got mine thru the Gun Club for $25 over wholesale and with tax and S&H it was about $542 Don

I shoot a lefty SBE2. Not sure why you'd want to get another gun other than that one.

I have a Remington 11-87 that is a lefty. Also I have a Browning 10 gauge that ejects out of the bottom. There are guns out there for the lefties, but finding them are a challenge.
