Mine are only 6 and 2, but I cannot imagine. Now I understand my fathers fears every time the Army sends me somewhere. God bless you and I hope that the hunt brings you some peace.

Best post of the season. Wonderful tribute.

Your posts are truly a blessing to me. By the time I finish reading, my priorities are back in order and the little things that had me stressed have evaporated. Thank you.

I wonder how many will, like me, read this and not know what to say. There are no words. I trust The Lord and time will heal ease the pain. Through all the joy and excitement of deer season we sometimes forget the tougher parts of life others deal with. No better words spoken.

When I was a kid, some of my best memories were hunting with my dad. He's been gone for 35 years, but every time I step into the woods, I remember those times. Like someone else said, I can't begin to fathom the pain of losing a child, but I hope and pray that your time hunting will help ease the pain and give you comfort.

very touching
I grew up hunting with my dad and brother and treasure those times. Just as I treasure bringing up my two boys hunting and spending time with them and my brother and dad before he passed last summer.
God bless

What a beautiful tribute to your son! God bless you and your family and thank you for describing such an important aspect of experiencing hunting with family. Prayers are lifted for you and your entire family. This pretty sums up my feelings as well.

Thank you for sharing. I'm on the opposite end. Dad and I were hunting buddies. After he died it was three seasons before I could bring myself to pull the trigger on a deer again. God bless and comfort you and yours.
