I have two questions about Fulvous Whistling Ducks.

How common are they along the coast?

When it comes to the bag limit, are they grouped with Mexican-like ducks or is the limit 6? I'll put in a call to TPWD if no one here knows...

Thanks

You can kill 6, but you won't see many in Texas. There are more Black Bellied Whistling ducks and you can kill 6 of those as well.

The Mexican-like ducks in the limit have to do with Mottled ducks and Mexican Mallards or variation of them.

I have only seen them on the coast during the summer. And only a few flocks at that. Usually hanging out with BBWD.

Just looked it up... Now thinking back to highschool years I shot a duck that looked like that and passed it off as a young pintail... crazy... may nota been though

Seen a fairly decent number of them a week before youth season last year. First and only time I've seen them.

Thanks for the input...we took 3 out of a group of four near the coast. Beautiful ducks...kept the best one for a mount.
