Thanks everybody. It was one of those "textbook" scenarios, drizzly all day, watching an oat patch. I hunted almost all day long and saw deer and turkey ALL DAY. Woke up this morning at 4 am, made coffee and got out before daylight and saw a spike running with his nose to the ground at about 8:30. Drove to Bluff Dale and saw a beautiful 10point in the bar ditch near our gate. Turkeys are EVERYWHERE since we got rid of the cows. I'm loving it. The problem is there's so many they clean every kernel around the feeders. Good luck to everybody. RUT IS ON.

Thanks everybody. I was out of pocket most of the day at the eye doctor of all places. Told me I had UVitis, WTH? It's an infection of the inner eye that could be caused by any number of things. I told him I needed to be home by 3:30 to be in my stand by 4pm, then we started talking deer hunting, turns out he has a house on lake Alan Henry near Post with a couple hundred acres in back. You know what I was thinking. I need to become a full time patient with benefits. Anyway, I was in the stand by 4:30 and watched two doe and a spike run around, obviously looking for love. Get 'em while they're hot folks.
Life is too short, as is. Don't chance it.
