Who wears a waterfowl hunting vest with waders? Do you find them to be helpful? Do they get cumbersome and get in the way, or do they keep everything where you need it and still allow freedom of movement? The reason I put this question in this forum, instead of the gear section is for a couple reasons. I'm not inquiring about a specific brand. I'm inquiring about the hunt-ability of these fairly new products. MODS: Can we keep it here? Please?

I sometimes wear a vest just to have some where to put birds, that way my dog doesn't mess with them

Honest opinion, I think they're silly.
Everything in a blind bag, hang on a tree or set on ground. Active shells are on a shell belt, which is usually hung on tree or blind. Calls on lanyard. What else do you need at hand?
My dog snores. Secret Agent Custom Calls

I wear one. especially when I go to the coast and we are walking our gear in. the places I hunt now though I can drive the truck up to the pond and unload my stuff. my partner can get the gear and decoys out while I move the truck back to the gate. We have a built blind on a couple of them so it makes for good organization. Then again if I were to choose to hunt public, or something I have to walk a little while to get to the chest pack is really helpful.
