I saw this truck parked off of I-35 in North Fort Worth (Keller) and I had to stop and take photos of it. I bet it would be a sweet hunt from the view up top looking over a food plot / pasture or even in some short brush hunting terrain. Looks like it is well built too, sad part is I don't have the money to buy it.

Anybody ever seen or hunted from one of these type rigs? I'd love to hear your story.

Not sure if it is even practical but it looks cool.

Buddy of mine had one similar built back in the late 90's. His was a topdrive with a hydraulic blind built in the back part of the topdrive. He loved it and he hunted in South Texas out of it. I would want some outriggers on that one if it was windy and I was trying to hunt out of it.

There would be a pucker factor with this one on a windy day.

I believe that is at Baker tankhead. They are also a distributor or HB hunting products. Harry's guys have built a few of those trucks.

The truck had stabilizers built on the corners of the base, they aren't down in the photo.

I agree that on a plus 15 mph wind day you wouldn't want to park 90 dehrees to the wind direction, maybe inline would be fine...

Yeah it is at Banker Tankhead - I've lived in Keller area since 1989 and hadn't noticed the place till I saw the truck. I think this hunting stuff is a new part of their business.

I asked if they rent it out but the answer was No frown

I'd love to see pictures of that top drive unit yall are referring to.

I'd think a mobile lift blind would be handy on a lot of properties since the bullets are essentially going into the ground or taking a steep angle downward. Not sure if that means richochets would then travel parallel to the ground...

That thing is sweet! I'd hunt out of it without a doubt. It would suck to be up there and a valve freeze up with no one to release the emergency release.

I subscribe to the KISS theory and it makes my life less complicated in the field...I focus more on hunting than the toys. I learned this approach the hard way by always having so many toys that it was always more about the 'stuff' than actually hunting or relaxing...just my .02

Those trucks sure are cool but owning enough scissor lifts as it is and seeing what they do in the wind I wouldn't like to be up in that. Doesn't help I am not a fan of heights.

This man has to be Matt Hand. Perfect description of his. Quail hunt out of Top drive in STX and deer hunt when done.

I agree with this and the need for outriggers. A guy could get seriously hurt in that rig. Looks neat though!
