I'm new to this forum, so thought I would start with local hunters lol Im a Deputy for the county and just bought a house on 9 acres that backs up to 2,000 acres called Aces Acre. First hunt this season will be in the morning, and I'll probably be sitting on the ground with some horns, grunt call and spread some estrus along the tree line. Any other ideas or tips let me know. I'm almost done building a hanging feeder, and I'll end up fabricating a ladder stand.

I live in the county. Lots of giant bucks at the processor from around here. The ar are working, along with conscientious people using protein and waiting on 4 and 5 year old deer. The age structure has been our missing link. It is coming around though. The genetic potential is here (lots of undesirable genetics as well) and the whole county is full of very palatable browse high in protein. Nice bucks are coming in at a rate that was unthinkable this time a few years ago.

Great to hear, anybody can shoot a young deer; it's the patience and hard hunting that makes a mature shooter well worth it. I'm not very familiar with food plots but next year I will be better prepared with one. I bought doe in estrus and some name brand acorn liquid attractant; I've never used the attractant before but I do know estrus and a pair of rattlin antlers do magic.
