I missed for the first time last year, and again this year! I can't believe. Biggest 8 I've ever seen offered a great shot, took it, and swear I saw him stagger before he went into the woods. Looked for any signs for 45 minutes, no blood, and only one set of tracks. Kicking myself. Going to try it again tonight, but after all the commotion I made looking for him I don't expect much

I bet you did not miss. I have seen some strange things over the years. A big buck can take a lot of punishment. Good luck with your hunt. I still bet you hit him.

I shot a nice 8 about four years ago, deer bolted after shot, I went to look for blood and there was not a drop. Found him about 50 yds from where he was shot. I'd go look some more, if you're sure you saw him stagger.

Biggest buck I ever shot was a double lung shot but a little far back as he was quartered to me slightly more than I thought. No blood anywhere but found him dead after bedding down about 50 yards away.

I'd still be looking for that deer since what you described sounds like the deer was hit. No blood does not mean you missed. Bucks hit high or in the shoulders may not bleed for quite a ways. Especially early in the season when they are fat. I would make sure I spent a couple of hours in that area looking before I wrote it off. If you know a guy with a blood dog might be worth it to give him a call.

I'd still be looking. I've shot a 8 point that I stumbled across at least 300 yards from feeder. Couldn't find any blood. This late in afternoon I'd be looking for buzzards to!

Boy I would be too especially if there was no echo on that hit.

Is there water close pond or. Creek. More than once I have found shot deer in water. If no water look for thick brush. My luck showed they usually go down hill. Never seen a shot deer run up hill. Also I have ever found a deer with a buzzard. That's just my luck. Good luck

Thanks for the support yall. I went home to run an errand and eat to give the area a rest. I figured if I let it settle down some, the buzzards would be up. They're nowhere to be seen. I've convinced myself I missed and am hoping I see him tonight
