how do you plan on getting that taken care of?
Korea is nothing like Germany, and no amount of Army Modernization propaganda will convince me otherwise. I miss my wife and kids something fierce

In the end, you will thank him. Judging by the photos, you are going to be able to see more deer than ever. Perfect stand location next to that wheat field. Deer are going to love that area. You've been feeding corn I see as well so "your" deer are trained. What was done won't hurt a thing, judging by those pictures.
P.S. Never speak ill of a land manager who clears mesquite. It is by far one of the most responsible things a rancher can do to improve the quality of the land. I find it ironic you want to "string up" the rancher. Back in the day, they would be the ones doing the stringing. You had better hope he isn't a member of the hunting forum.

-1st off "string up" wasn't meant in the literal sense. 2nd, I hope he is. Maybe he could explain why he didn't have the common courtesy to tell anyone - including the landowner.
As for the thanking him, I sure hope you are right but I am not optimistic about that. What you don't see here is the feed pen is now an island out in the open as well. As for the wheat field, it has always been there and hasn't seemed to do much for it prior to him clearing. And the wheat field backs up to a road a few hundred yards back so unless they are going to it, doesn't seem as an option.
We shall see. Thanks for the insight though.

Oh, and strangely prior to this week when I saw a dozer on my camera, I had deer coming in each morning and eve. After that picture, even the coons have all but stopped coming. I guess I will save on corn though....

I like how he left one tree by your stand ha... yall ever had any bad blood? Not me. Guy before me had a dust up but it was small. Could be partly the reason he chose not to fence off my area when he did it. May think the other guy is still there. Seems possible but unlikely. Just don't think he cares.

I know it sounds simple, but in all honesty, have you contacted him to discuss this?

I know it sounds simple, but in all honesty, have you contacted him to discuss this? Yes. I am letting the lease manager contact him since he has the relationship. He contacted the farmer who "manages" the rancher. As of yet he has not gotten a call back. I really doubt anything will happen other than maybe a "oh sorry". When it comes down to it, comparatively speaking the land owner obviously gets a whole lot more leasing to the farmer and rancher than he does to us.

That's true, but if there was an issue that one of them had with me personally, I would want to know. Seems like this might be the case.

Guy that I replaced had a run in for chasing cows from this blind. I bought the blind. Probably doesn't know that but if you see the pic I posted later he did it to another guys blind who I know has no issues with him. I will wait and see what comes of this and then decide what to do. I have never seen the rancher. Last year he put his cattle out the week of opening season. I just don't think he cares about us at all.

Is this the landowner doing this or someone that leases from the landowner? Not the landowner. Spoke to him yesterday. He said they didn't even ask for his permission. He had no idea. He didn't seem too upset but I have no idea what his plans are or even if he intends to say anything. Rancher that leases via the farmer from what I understand

Three parties involved, all with different goals, and one had issues with another.
Shocking....

Sorry to see that. It may not be that bad. Exact same thing happened to me a few years ago. They cleared about 100 acre of my 240 acre lease. I wanted to hurt somebody real bad. Then I consistently saw many more deer than I had ever seen there before. Longer shots, but more deer to choose from. Good luck.

Glad to hear. My feed pen is an island though. Didn't get that perspective in the pictures.

Sign of the times. Inconsiderate Morons with no respect. You can always tell because they play stupid afterwords. "I did not even know"...he was going to do that.. but it's OK. We now make excuses for them.... Making it acceptable behavior..."It will be OK".... (Would you have set up your stand where you did knowing what you know today??) NO There is no rancher in your area that the week before deer season would do what he did without a motive. He knows deer season was coming. You have been had... my opinion. I wish you the best.
