Ok all you Texas game ranchers, what is required for sheep, goats and african antelope to export from Texas?
Brand inspection?
Vet bill of health?
Scrapie?
Now that we are Kentucky bound on Monday the ball has started to roll.

Depends on which state you are going to, most all of them require health inspection and scrapie on Sheep, I have shipped Mouflon all over U.S. never shipped antelope out of state

Good to know. We'll be in touch, as soon as we find a place and get it fenced for mouflon.
I want to do mouflon first, then work on tahr, alpine or nubian ibex and then TCU and sable.

http://www.kyagr.com/statevet/Special Entry Requirements •Please call our office at 502-564-3956 before shipping livestock from the following states: California, Michigan, or Texas Exotics are considered livestock by most states. Requirements for entry at http://www.lrc.state.ky.us/kar/302/020/040.htmI would call the Kentucky number above to get specific information. They will need a certificate of vet inspection from a veterinarian in Texas and he will very likely need to call and get a entry permit number from Kentucky and to get that permit the animals will have to meet all the Kentucky requirements.

I sent an email and got a nice response from the KY Game and Fish and Livestock board. Told them I was inbound this weekend and would be looking for property outside of Lexington.
They were very nice and sent a nice email.
Basically if it is deer you are screwed but anything that is not a cervid just needs a permission slip from both outfits and you are good to go.
Cape buffalo are one of the species you can't have. Kind of dumb. I bet there isn't 300 cape buffalo in captivity in North America.
We'll work on mouflon after we get our pens built to their specs this summer and then figure out tahr, ibex, TCU and the African stuff I want.

As of 3-1-2010, Kentucky only requires a Scrapie Tag for entry of Sheep into the State....no additional tests.

I'll have a pretty good idea what we are doing during my 2 months in Buda for exotics.
