In just 18 days I getta head west! Two weeks in texas with some hog hunting planned. It will be great to stand in Texas again!

Good luck. I hope the weather cools off for good by then. Highs in the 70's tomorrow but back in the upper 80's next week.

Mariellen came up to the house today and we completed dialing in her Axis 243. She left feeling pretty good about her ability to shoot out to 150 yards.
We have only six days left!

We had a great time! Mariellen (who was NEW to hunting 2 tears ago) scored five for five shots. First nite in the stand she connected on a nice 125# boar. We could not locate the animal in the dark unfamiliar area but while looking a smaller gilt came out and locked in my bright light. I told her to shot. She shot off shoulder and grilled the pig just over the eye. The 243 core lok did a labotomy (sp) on the pig.
Night two she drilled a beautiful coyote in the neck at 85 yards. Two more small pigs were added tyo her list, all with single shots and dead in their tracks.
The Axis 243 and core lok ammo worked flawlessly!
We are driving home now. Missing Texas even before we left!

We are 107 miles east of Lima. You were hauling the mail to do that in 15 hours. You didn't have two women with you, I'd wager!
