Has anyone ever caught a sounder or any hogs in a net?
I'm looking for ideas and thoughts on doing it.
I think we are gonna give it a shot, just not really sure what to expect.

Well......I guess if you can get close enough you could use a cast net for bait fish. Probably tear the ever loving carp out of that net but might be the most exciting 100 bucks you ever spent with your clothes on. I say 100 because you will need the bigger net.

You are gonna need something to hold net in place once it gets hogs in it , also how are you going to get them out ?

What about the net they use to catch wild turkeys they catch 20 r so in it might work on pigs

So all you need is a net, net gun, and a helicopter. I got to start playing the lottery

Get a large net like this, a pulley system and hoist up a 1000 lb log on the other end. Lay it flat on the path they travel, cover with leaves and when they, or the majority are over the net cut the rope holding up the log and boom trapped hogs. We do it all the time

Try this:
Stuff needed:
Bottle of cheap tequila
bag of corn
large rocks
post hole diggers
shovel
thin plastic wrap
5 gallon bucket
Louisville slugger or if you like the "ping", aluminum bat.
Kaiser Blade(sling blade)also works good if sharp or Ninja sword.
Video camera w/ tripod

What to do:
Dig a 4 foot deep hole approx. 1.5- 2 foot in diameter near edge of field where there is heavy pig traffic.
Fill bucket with a mixture of corn, tequila, and water(heavy on the tequila) Cover it and let sit for a couple days. Throw some sugar in there too.

Fill hole with layered ingredients like so:
plastic wrap
corn mix
Rocks
plastic wrap
corn mix
Rocks
etc.. till hole is full.
Finish with corn mix on top mixed with the rocks.

Sprinkle excess corn mix around edge of hole.

Check the area from a distance when you think pigs might be there. If the pigs are still walking around, come back later.

Once you see pigs laying around the crater they have made, this is the time to get closer. These are drunk pigs. Get good and stretched for some cardio. Set up the video camera, you are going to want to review this when you are rocking chair age.

Walk up with bat or weapon of choice and unleash a fury of blunt force trauma.

Be sure we get a look see of the vid.lol

When I had a place in south texas that was loaded with hogs I wanted to rig a snare on an offshore fishing set up and fish for hogs.

Go watch an old John Wayne movie named Hitari and use the trick they use in the movie to catch monkeys.....Some of the armor they come up with is pretty amusing....you will probably need considerably more for this project!

The Noble foundation spent significant time researching that and while very effective is cost prohibitive and unless your killing everything captured is too time consuming to remove live one by one.

They opted to design a coral trap that comes completely off the ground and is 86% effective of catching entire sounders.

Me and 2 other guys cast neted 5 pigs that weighed about 10 pounds. They where bedding down in a hay bale that was ate down. We watched them bed down there for a few days. Buddy threw the net and we all jumped on top of them.
