Probably picking up dinner on the way there on Friday. It'll be the boy and I so we won't be leaving till he gets out of school. That puts us at the lease at around 7pm. I've been trying to think of something simple I can cook when we get there but am having a hard time. So it will probably be Whataburger.

Everyone wants me to cook burgers on Saturday so it's a pretty basic weekend for us.

That looks great.
Me and my dad had fried crappie, hush puppies, baked beans, and oven fried potatoes with onions and jalapeņos. Home maid cinnamon rolls for desert.
That was Saturday. Going to grill some pork chops today.

Only cooked dinner one night this weekend.

Mesquite grilled beef tenderloin and skillet baked potatoes covered in cheese. Simple but really good.

Picked up a Green Chili cheeseburger from Whatburger on the way to the lease on Friday. Not as good as the Monterrey Melt but dang close. Awesome burger!

We always have one or two meals of squirrel dumplings at our camp each year. This is one meal that everyone shows up for and looks forward to. Other regular meals would include:

fried dear steak with gravy and potatoes
grilled pork chops, chicken and sausage
deer chili
the occasional fish fry
chili dogs when a lot of the kids are around
deer or pork with eggs and fried biscuits for breakfast

All of the family comes to the deer camp for Thanksgiving and New Years, with the usual Thanksgiving menu, and New Years Day is always deer steak and gravy, black eyed peas, and baked cabbage wrapped in bacon

Luckily we have a lot of good cooks in our camp

Ive got 4 days at duck camp next week. I'll have 2 whole beef tenderloins trimmed and tied. Seasoned well and grilled over pecan. Smothered potatoes with onions, butter and milk.
Ive got a couple dozen ducks that ill stuff with sweet jalapenos and wrap with bacon. Grilled medium rare and drizzled with a lemon butter wine sauce.
10 pounds of black pepper elk sausage.
Buddy is bringing 10 whole flounders. Gonna stuff them with crabmeat, scallops, shrimp, breadcrumbs, garlic. Wrap in foil and cook over pecan with lemon butter wine sauce over the top with dirty rice.
Plenty of bloody bulls, salty dogs, Makers Mark and cigars.

We usually have a group of 8 or 9 at our elk camp which lasts 9 days.
In no particular order we have beef enchiladas, chicken spaghetti, spaghetti and meat balls, elk or beef tenderloin, elk or venison chili, some kind of meat stew, elk venison or beef burgers. Leftovers towards end of camp.
Breakfasts include eggs sausage bacon biscuits gravy, oatmeal. Sandwich stuff for lunches. Plenty of coffee. As Oxner said no one goes hungry.

Hot dogs are a quick fix either grilled or boiled. Heat up a can of chili and you are done.
