I need some advice or tricks to get rid of trespassers. This is one our personally owned land. Someone keeps coming on our property and apparently getting caught on our game cameras, then stealing the SD cards out of them. We have been unable to tell if they have poached anything. I'm just wondering of anyone has personally dealt with a matter like this and what did you do to catch them. It has happened twice in the last 2 weeks. Thanks.

Can you set up a second, well hidden camera?

There is no big trees in the vicinity but I may be able to sneak one somewhere.

If you have pictures, then get with the sheriff and take care of it.

Get a camera that sends every picture it take to your e-mail.

No pictures as they keep stealing the SD out of the camera. We have very bad AT&T service there which is what has kept us from doing it that so far. What type of service do these require?

They need to make an electric cage to go around game cameras like they do for feeder spouts. Have a code to turn it off or key.

Leave the sd card out and get them on internal memory.

internal memory should already have the photos when they leave with the SD card. take the camera to a computer or take your laptop to camera and plug it directly into the computer and you should be able to pull the photos up on the computer. If they are turning off the camera completely would be the only reason you would not have a photo.

Can you tell where they're coming in? Try hiding a camera that catches them on the approach to your spot. They won't take the time to look for a camera lie they would at the actual site.

We had this same issue a couple years ago. Our personal place is way out in the sticks and almost no one out there in the area if it's not deer season. They were huntin our stands and hell they even slept in our trailer and used our BBQ pit!! The nerve and balls on these guys. We set up camera and they stole both cameras. So we found a spot close to our gate were they were comin In and hide a cameras just off the ground in the high grass and caught the intruders on sd card. It was a bunch of teenagers and guys and girls in there early 20s. 7 people on one pic as they walked in. And pics of them dragging out a pig. So we called the sheriff and GW. And the sheriff new half of them by name so did the GW. Pressed charges and they were charged. Just make sure u hide the camera very well.
Also I would check the internal memory on UR cams as long as they didn't turn them off (that's what they did to are cams bfor they stole them bcuz we had locks on them ) u should have them red handed. Good luck. Nothin worse than a low down a##h**€

Get you a Spypoint Tiny W cam. Comes with a "black box" which stores all of your photos from your camera, and you can hide it wherever you want. Stores all of your photos on a second SD card. You'll catch someone with that camera.

Since they didn't steal the camera...it may be someone you know from neighboring property. There taking sd card to see what bucks you have on there. I had a guy taking my sd cards ,viewing them and bringing back in reinstalling them. Who knows how long it had been going on before I finally busted him. The internal memory may have got him but if they knew your cam was there they probably approached from behind and opened.

I bought the metal lock boxes for all my game cameras. Each manufacturer makes them for specific models. You can put a lock on it to keep them from opening your camera and most also allow you to screw to tree and add a python lock to tye it all together as a third deterrent. I do all 3 to my cameras.

Thanks for the advice. It's the first time dealing with this situation. I'm going to get the cameras today and see if there are any pictures backed up on them. The neighbors said the have been seeing a strange car going down in there and they are on the look out now.

A steel trap used for trapping works pretty good in these situations.

Heck, I don't have trespassers and I am thinking about some of the gadgets recommended here (except for the electric cage, steel traps and buckshot, you don't need any more problems than just trespassing).
If there is internal memory on the camera, make sure to clear it out if there is nothing there that you can use. Mine was full of pictures from three years ago.
