Been using Susan to process my deer and hogs for several years. She called me and said that she was not going to be open for business this year. There is a processor in Merkel, just south of I-20. Has anyone used them, or is there another place close to the Abilene area that you would recommend?

coffee spelled backwards is eeffoc. I don't give eeffoc until I have my morning coffee.

Delk Processing north of Abilene does great work
Trophy Case in Tuscola
Stephens Processing in Abilene of course is the biggest in the area

Have used them all and they all do good work

These are the two in Merkel.

James Wild Game Processing - http://www.jameswildgame.com/

and Dad's Wild Game Processing - https://www.facebook.com/pages/Dads-Wild-Game-and-Jerky/446986248687488

Both are very good. Dad's is right next to me across my west fence.

We use Stephens in Abilene and or Trophy in Tuscola.

Used Dana James in Merkel for years. Very clean and does a great job. We now hunt out of Aspermont and still use James

Dana James in Merkel is the best IMO. I've been using him for many years. Knows his business and you always get your own meat. Stephens is good but a little pricey, and Trophy Case is good, but it's 20 mi. south of Abilene. I haven't tried Delk, Dads, or the guy just north of Tye. I highly recommend staying away from the Deer Shop!

I've used Delks for the last few years for hogs and deer. They do good work and make some outstanding sausages. They're also about 5 minutes from my house, so that's a huge plus.

If I don't process myself, I use Trophy Case in Tuscola.
