Eastland County (Cisco)...

Place has not been hunted in 3 years, so it's not pressure... Feeders have been going about 4-5 weeks...

Will this change? frown

The deer probably do not live on that place and it takes them a while to get there. Days get cooler and shorter they will move better. After the first freeze it will really change.

Hogs and coons won't or don't at my lease. As for the deer, with the cooler temps I've had more day time action.

thanks guys. any other insight would be great. feeder times are 7 AM, and 6 PM.

and yeah, I did have a good laugh at the busted pic. I had a feeling the 'look at me' pose would provide a little humor - thank god i spent the $17 for the varmint cage and the zip ties

No answer, we went through a 1000 plus pictures yesterday, only 3 were day time pics of deer.

Cool pictures. Coons and hogs are primarily nocturnal so don't expect them to be there during shooting hours. For the deer being there so early next year set your afternoon feeder to run earlier in the day so there is no leftovers by morning. Make your am feed time a little later to make them wait until after sunrise and you are watching to eat. Shoot those pigs in the mean time.

Amen to that - I wanna stick a pig so bad! This is my 1st year to bow hunt, so I pray i get the chance to draw on a deer or pig!

BTW - My lease buddy's cam also has pics at night only.

The please had not been leased in 3 years, so pressure is zero. Noone drives around on the property that i know of either. We have 3 stock tanks on the property... I am parked next to one of them.

maybe I'm just over anxious hammer

I've got these same issue at the moment. Bucks bachelored up and feeding just after sunset twilight.

I look forward to the cooler weather and trying out some calls, rattling and scent drippers to draw me in during the daylight.

I have my feeder set for 7 & 8 AM and 7 PM. Soon to be 6 & 7 AM & 6 PM.

we run 14 cameras and I see thousands and thousands of pictures - during summer months around 95% are at night and I think it is due to the heat - just more comfortable for them to move when it is a little cooler

You can't fix stupid

From a deer's perspective, if were were getting shot at, we'd move in the nighttime when it's quiet.

It will help if you put hog panels around your feeders, that is if you are primarily hunting deer.

How come everybody I meet is a deer hunting expert?

I like hunting both, so, I think it will stay the way it is.... Actually, I prefer to kill pigs. Just want to create myself a petting zoo so I can stick one. lol

IDK...

Based on the poop I saw, it seems they come in from east to west, and leave the same way... if that's true, at least i'll see em coming.

What if they walk in backwards?

Try running your feeder timer to fewer seconds. This will get them used to it going off and they'll have the 'first come first serve' attitude. I turn my feeder down 2 weeks prior to opennong day.

And probably the animal activity will stay as it is then. Once we penned our feeders the deer activity increased dramatically within a few days.
