New to the area and I'm curious what to expect. I have a place off 183 right on the mills/lampasas county line.

I am probably 7 or 8 miles northwest of you, know the beer barn in Lometa well. Hogs are spotty, we have them folks not far from us don't, not huge numbers but they are there.

Deer size is not that big, we feed protein and even the mature ones don't get really big. We have a few massive horned bucks on our place, so with protein and some selective shooting nice head gear is possible.

I'm pretty close to the par 5 ranch and I as well have enjoyed the beer barn. I have seen a lot of young bucks only a couple quality young ones. The only mature buck I've seen on camera is 120-125. Haven't had any pictures of hogs but on one food plot that doesn't have a camera I found a little rooting. I was told 130 for that area is what to expect. There are def a lot of deer out there. The neighbor told me she has spotted a mountain lion out there a couple times.

I hunted the E9 for years, a 179 was killed there about 10 years ago, it made the Texas Biggame Awards. Also, across the road from the E9 was a ranch owned by a Canales, a buck with the approx same score was killed a year before the other, it too made the awards.
