I can say that the TARGET PRACTICE Click me payed off.

I went to a friends place to try and get my 6 yro sons first deer. The target deer was the first one to the feeder. I had already got the gun setup and ready for when the moment would take place.

I Had Braydon (my son) practice finding different items in and around the feeder pen before the deer showed up. When the buck showed, he was ready to go. I took the gun off safety for him so he could focus on the shooting part. I could hear him breathing heavy and could feel him shaking as he leaned on my knee to take the shot.

I told him to just let me know when he was ready and I got an immediate response of "Im ready" Then BOOOOOM!!! The buck kicked high in the air jumped the pen and went out of sight behind some trees in the wheat field. I congratulated my son.

After a few minutes, the deer came walking back into sight. I looked him over in my binos and could see there was a small knick in the deer left front shoulder, but no blood was pouring out. I had Braydon ready for the follow up shot.

I told him to practice just like we do when target practicing and just squeeze the trigger. I then hear the infamous "CLICK" the deer is at 88 yards looking right at us. For some reason, the next round didn't chamber. I pulled the bcg back as quietly as I could and chambered another round. This time on the boom, the deer jumps way up in the air, both front and rear legs stretched out and hits the ground on his stomach.

He gets up and jumps the fence. I can see the briars in the thick stuff moving like crazy. We wait about 30 or so minutes until my buddy who was letting us hunt his place shows up. We go to the spot, and there my sons FIRST of many deer lay.

The second shot hit the deer right at the top of the heart. He didn't go 10 yards after he was shot.

The grin says it all.
Thanks Ernie cheers

Here he is ready for the shot.

Here you can see the first shot just knicked the deer shoulder, went in and right back out.

And here is the final product.

Congrats to the young man!!!
You will now need to clear a seat in the truck before every hunting trip, because you arent going hunting again without your son by your side.

Congrats to both of you, but we all know 5.56 black guns can't kill deer! Just kidding, my daughter has killed 2 with my RRA 5.56. It works great!
