I think this fella could use another year or two and really be a monster, but I'm hunting 200 acres and I'm not so sure the neighbors will feel the same. Thoughts?

Nice buck. I'd give him another year. Sure, there is a chance he won't make it. But if you shoot him, he definitely won't.

They may take him, but one thing is for sure. If you take him he won't be there next year. I have let a lot of nice bucks walk with the hope of seeing them next year or two. Occasionally, its turns out great, sometimes not so great. If you want him to have another year or two you have to give him a pass. You can't control your neighbors.

Your neighbors might be hoping you don't shoot him.

I let deer walk all the time and never see them again. and I know for a fact they didn't get shot.

its the way it goes.

but you will never kill a big buck if you shoot them when they are little

You know your area and ranch better than any of us. That is a great buck and really depends on what you goals are on this lease.

Shoot him. We own a 96 acre property and we've let a good number of 3.5 to 4.5 year-olds walk, never to see them again. Some of our neighbors are management minded like we are, but with such a small property, there are too many other hunters within 3 square miles that will shoot anything they see.

If you want some friendly advice, get a haircut and take a bath. You wouldn't get hassled so much.

Let him go. If you shoot him, then you are that neighbor. Don't be that guy.

Be the change you wish to see.

Jeffbird I'm with you. Change starts with yourself, if you can't pass him up why should the neighbor!?

If you wouldn't feel good about killing a 3.5 year old then don't shoot it. Simple as that.
