I am in the hill country and surrounded by axis. I see them in each of our neighbors' pastures but cannot seem to get them onto our place. I feed year round, the neighbors do not, and I feed a combo of corn and alfalfa pellets. Is there anything else I can do to get the axis to come my way. It is frustrating to see them and hear them but never be able to shoot one! Any ideas??

Go buy you a premium ton square bale of alfalfa. That will do the trick!

Alfalfa is much loved by Axis. Even better are those berry-flavored trophy blocks. But beware-hogs love them too!

I do have a small man made tank on the property, two to be exact. As far as the alfalfa goes, my mother-in-law has cattle on the property so I would need to put up a pen to keep them out. I have been told that axis will not get into a pen unless it is large in size so I have been hesitant. That is why I use alfalfa pellets in my feeder. Thanks for the input!

Freshes alfalfa u can get. Shake it out so all the leaves fall out in a big area the cattle can only eat the stems not the small stuff how I feed it with my cows around. They seem to love the com'er deer corn coat on the corn also. Then Get a houchi mama elk cow call and whoop to them they will come investigate. They are very social animals. The call works. I drew in a buck yesterday and tday just couldn't get a shot at him. I will try to call him In Agian in the mornin
