I need to ask if anyone has used magnum primers to load 270 win.? I have read it won't hurt anything but I will need to reduce my powder charge. How much will I need to reduce my charge to start out? Any load data using 130 gr. nosler BT.?

A rule of thumb is 1.5 to 2.0 grains. Sometimes I use magnum primers in non-magnum cases when using ball powders as that's what many reloading guides recommend.
If you have a chronograph, it's easy to come up with an exact figure; otherwise, it's better to err on the side of caution.

I use CCI 250 in a 25-06 load with no problems. Have been since the 60's.

I saw almost no difference at all between Federal 210s and 215s lighting off H4831 in my .25-06. I wouldn't expect to see that with every powder or cartridge, though. I see no need to fool with them since I laid in my supplies a while back.

I always use mag primers with H4831 - 58 grns - with a 130 grain 270w load. never a problem and I feel it does a slightly better job.

I use Magnum rifle primers on my 280AI because its knocking on the door of 60 grains. With normal rifle primers its not as consistent.

Done it I .30-06 without issue. I usually load .5grn under max, and with mag primers 1.5grn under. I don't think it makes much difference. I've also loaded spm in 9mm and. 38 and never had any problems. I backed off my standard load by .3.
The secret to a long life is to try not to shorten it.
