The 2 M&P PRO's are very nice. Both are slightly used and broken in.

After owning/shooting the Pro vs. Regular MP, what would you say are noticeable differences?

I have never handled a standard M&P pistol. In my research I found the biggest difference is the trigger/sear parts. Not wanting to replace standard M&P parts with APEX or other aftermarket parts just to make a 6 lb+ trigger better, the PRO fit my wants. The 5" PRO has a noticeable smoother trigger than the 4.25 PRO. Both are previously owned so unknown round count. Since the 5" PRO is S&W's so called competition gun, like the Glock 34 and XDm 5.25, maybe the trigger is still a little better. They, S&W, say these guns come from the Custom Shop, not regular production. The 5" has fiber optic front sight and a black blade rear sight. The 4.25" has night sights and the Shield has plain 3 dot sights. The Shield came out advertised as having a better trigger than the other M&P's, S&W said they would be working it into the regular M&P line of guns. The best thing is, the grip angle is like a 1911, not a Glock! I do not shoot a Glock very well at all.

Do the Pros have SS slides? YES, and are Melonite finished like the barrel.

RWH24...which grip inserts do you use in your M&P's? I know i prefer the mediums in the 9/40/357 frames and a the small in the 45acp frame M&P's....

I have the small in both. I have big meaty hands and short sausage fingers. I get better reach and grip control with the small B/S insert

So my question to you..... Does the 9/40 with med insert feel the same as a 45 with small insert? My next pistol I hope will be a M&P 45.

I have pretty big hands with long fingers, and I use the Med in the MP40. The Large insert feels like a tennis ball

My next pistol I hope will be a M&P 45. the 45 grip is a little longer but the small insert makes the gun point about the same to me as the 9/40 grip with medium inserts.....in my hands they do feel closely the same. I might add that my 45 has the thumb safety whereas my other M&P's do not...i prefer them without but i hold the 45 with a thumb riding the safety lever just like i would a 1911.

Thanks, That is an answer I was looking for. I too would ride the safety like a 1911. Where else would it go?

I put the complete APEX trigger system in my M&P 40. Trigger is now awesome.
