The last time we had a new moon on opening weekend I killed a 150 ten point at 4pm. One month later to the date, on the new moon, I killed a 150 eight pointer in a different county at 4pm. My two biggest bucks so far. Point of the story...make sure your in your stand at 4pm on the new moon.

4 weeks off?!?! Guess you must work the rigs offshore. Guess I will be in the pop up at 3p.m. Would like to hunt all day but I tend to doze off to the sounds of freedom in the woods. Don't wanna spook anything with sounds of my snoring!

Got 1 week off the first full week of gun season. I'll be out there that Sunday night. Temps should be better then last year. Last year it was down right steamy in the old blind.
