Had our first hunt on one our ranches on the Devils River just over a week ago. This ranch is rough (minimal roads, tons of rock) but great Aoudad numbers. Couldn't have time it right for the weather (over cast and in the 70s) we expected temps in the 90s. We put the stalk on several big rams and just couldn't connect so we came up with plan B and went to the far north end of the ranch which is 1.5hrs from camp. This is where it all came together and we took 2 nice rams back to back.

After the first ram was taken care of you could see a wall of rain headed our way and I checked the weather radar to see yellow and red and a lot of it headed our way. I was focused on getting the 2nd ram skinned out as fast as we could to not have to work in the rain and it totally slipped my mind how far we were back in there and how many creek beds we had to cross!

Long story short we make it back to the truck (soaked) and I turn the truck on pop her in 4 and a rock flipped up and put a nice size hole in my power steering which luck would have also gives me power brakes. Boy it was going to be an interesting ride back to camp! Lots of slipping and sliding and white knuckling it but the Chevy held together and it was a great day of hunting.
