I read through the 12 pages in the processor post up top but didnt see anything for east TX along I-30. I live south of sulphur springs and will be hunting just north east of mt pleasant. Looking for someone good to use along that route. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Dlallder- I may give them a shot. That would only be about 30 minutes from our hunting property. Anything in particular they make real good?

x2 If you can get to Detroit, do it! They make great summer sausage and link sausage. Very good people
Sometimes I wonder if it will get to the point you bring an attorney with you out hunting.

I've heard PoBoys is good. If I get lucky enough to get a deer this year, I might just have to try them out.

I use Bishops or the other one in Mount Pleasant. First one to answer the phone gets my business: ) I used the MP processor last year. He did a great job and let me keep the heads before taking the deer. I was also checked by the game warden every time I went.
Bishop usually keeps the head until ya pick up the meat. Never seen the game warden at his place. Plus you get to see all the other deer in his cooler when you put yours in. Whoever thinks there are no bigguns in NE Texas is flat wrong.
Both make great summer sausage etc.
It ain't easy being me.

We have used Don Boggs at Mt. Pleasant Meat Co. for years we normally do our own butchering but he does our sausage and lets us hang them when its too hot outside, or to age them a few days.

Not that it's in any of the above counties but I've used Landers in Garland off of 78 for years. He's good and you can go look in his frezzers too at all of the deer there.

Hopkins county Food Locker - he makes the best summer sausage- particularly the jalapeno variety. If you get a lot of sausage, it can be kind of pricy because he mixes pork and beef in. Very good, though.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I believe I will go with Bishop in mt pleasant. Just talked to them. they charge $65 for basic deer processing and that includes skinning. I ve always skinned my deer myself before. I processed my own last year, lot of work. If it was cooler or if I had a big fridge to hang it in, Id do it myself again.
