I have been hunting on the same property since January of this year. In that time, I have been out there 3 out of every 4 weekends. Since January, I have only seen 2 deer. One was a great buck, but only saw him running away as he had busted me. The other a good sized doe. Recently, I stumbled onto a gold mine! I was scouting a trail, and spooked up a doe. She started snorting at me. 50 yards later on the same trail, I hear movement in the brush and a good 8 pointer springs from the bushes heading away from me. Another 30 yards and I spooked a doe & a yearling.
I waited another week or so before going back to bow hunt it. I went in before dark, spooked several deer on the way in. Got set up, and at first light saw several legal deer-but none within range. Did see the 8 pointer again-but he was too far out for me to take a shot at. This weekend, I hope to see him whilst I have my rifle with me.
I have seen over 30 in a 2 week period. I just hope the hunting pressure does not drive them from this spot. I think I found where they are bedding.
If I sat all season and never saw a deer, yes, I would be pretty disappointed. I think I would find a new place to hunt if I was not seeing any deer in an entire season.
A hog is nothing more than a bullet receptacle.

I know that I'm very fortunate because it's a rare time in the stand that I don't see several deer. We have a nice crop of 2-4 year old 8-pointers that we hope will grow up while we shoot spikes and does. I've got some younger bucks that I see so often I have names for 'em. If I do catch that 5-6 year old 10-point, though, he's toast.

Coke county--- first 4 years there we would see 10-20 deer a sitting and then we had a 5-7 year span where it was tough to even see a deer, the last 3 years 3-8 deer a sitting however had one sitting where 32 where there..
This is my first year on my lease in young and i am seein 1 deer per weekend since start of bow season..Hope it is a little better.

I hunted a piece of property that I use to own for 13 days and saw 7 does running across an opening on one of those days. That was all I ever saw again. That is the main reason that is it a place that I use to own. I've never had a day to not see deer at the Concho County place. It sure makes it worth the drive to get there.

Up in Montague I was happy to see a deer every 3 or 4 hunts. I did move to a spot where I normally saw one deer each hunt but it might be for 5 seconds. I just got back from Kent county and I saw more deer in a day then I ever saw in a whole season up in Montague. Even saw them moving in the middle of the day.

I have spent my fair share of days in the blind without seeing anything, and I know it can be frustrating. But this year has been very active for me so far. I haven't been in the blind yet that I didn't see critters!

I hunt on the Kent/Dickens County line we have had our place for 5 years and there were weekends we wouldn't see a deer at all, and would average 1 deer seen per weekend. We didn't shoot does and only shot mature deer, and now we are seeing more deer- usually 1 deer or so per hunt.
I also bowhunt and hunted for 20 hunts this year and saw deer on about 5 of those days. It's frustrating sometimes, but we are in an area with quality deer and not quantity deer.

That's funny. This place in Kent is quantity and not quality. All it take is a mile and it is a different story for what you see. We had 11+ deer in the wheat each night and could not bump them and much more in other places. They ate all my corn I put out for the hogs each day which we never saw. The turkeys and deer are like squirrels in Dallas. Other ranches around there, you might see nothing b/c of the cover, food, and water.

I spent all day saturday in my blind without seeing anything. And, it was not a pleasant day. It was HOT. And, I was being swarmed by both mosquitos and lady bug swarms. Think it was too hot for most to be moving. Hopefully next weekend will be better.

I went for a few hours yesterday scouting and saw a whole lot of sign including some really nice rubs and heavily used trails but no deer.
