i hunted from wed-sunday. had the trip planned forever and turns out i catch the warmest stretch of wx for the entire month. still in their bachelor groups and didn't see a single deer in the evening til 7pm each night, but around 7 it was like they flicked a switch as the deer really spilled in. still in bachelor groups and some of our older bucks are still nocturnal, but all that should be changing soon enough.
wheat looked great even before this rain and plenty to eat in the pastures, so some of our feeders did have a little corn underneath. morning hunts weren't bad with movement lasting later than i'd expected as we still had deer at the feeders til 9 am most morning. the rains came a little late this year for antler size, but bodywise our deer look great. best of luck, the wx fcast looks pretty promising. we r about 12 miles south of albany fyi

Not me as of yet. All the mature bucks still are pretty nocturnal. Which is expected this time of year at our place. Usually things turn around after our first good freeze. I've been seeing deer regularly. Just young bucks, does, and fawns though.

I took a stupid; greedy 55 yrd shot at this guy and missed...didn't touch him but scared him and he snorted at me for almost a minute after my shot. We're east of Moran, TX
