Lot of people have been hand loading or running the barnes vor-tx ammo 120gr ttsx.

Or 140gr cup and core

I shoot Rem Core lokt 140 and the Fusion 140 in mine the Fusion 140. It does seem to like the Fusion a bit better. I shot 2 deer last year with the Rem Accu tip bullets even though both deer were recovered the performance was Poor and not to my liking.

ammo would depend on use..
For the average deer hunter shooting say 300 and under I would go with the Barnes Vortex 120g TTSX load.

I have some for the 7mm08 I got in (Weatherby V2, 20" barrel) for my 16 year old to use.

Shooting .3" groups, hard to argue with that.

For bigger game I would move up to 140s probably and for long range fun if you handload 162s

If 139 GMX Superperformance works for you, then based on the price of the other choices, you might as well use the best.

Otherwise, the Hornady American whitetail non-boattail is good enough.

I have been less than impressed with the GMX line of bullets. You either get a hole you could park a tractor in or no expansion. I would shoot something else.

Mine likes 140gr accubonds and 139 gr SST'S
I guess you broke down and bought one instead of shooting the 204.

they're available from Nosler. Finding them is a different story.

In 31 years with the 7mm-08 I have used several different bullets, hand loaded and a few factor.

Currently running 140gr accubonds but have used
140gr Corelock
140gr Ballistic tip
139gr Hornady interlock
139gr Hornady sst
140gr partition
145gr Seer spbt

Have some 120gr ttsx I might workup a load for some day and give a try.
