I bought my hunting license over a month ago an paid for a duck stamp, but I still haven't got it. What's the best way of going about getting mine? Is there a special number or anything I can call?

Thanks for the help

My knee-jerk answer is that it may be easier just to buy another stamp, rather than to go through the bureaucratic line-dance to get one replaced. Life's too short, I'm thinking.

I lost my federal stamp one year and think I called TPWD department and was given a proper contact number. They sent a new one out at no expense.

to avoid this problem I buy mine every year from the post office. it is easier that way. as for your question, I have no idea. I do not know for sure, but a GW would have to be a (censored) to give you a ticket when it says on your license that you bought a duck stamp. 45 day voucher or not you still bought one. The hard copy has a time limit of one year. So if you bought one and have not received the hard copy (I do not know for sure) you could probably fight it in court. It is not your fault the Government shutdown stopped you from getting the hard copy. again I am in no way saying you can get out of it, just my $.02

I have 5 buddies in Louisiana that had the same problem . They talked to the local game warden and were givin a few numbers to call . The answer they got was because of the shut down they are delayed . Don't know how accurate this is just throwing it out there .

I didn't get mine after a few weeks. I looked at my license to check the address because I had the guy change it. It was wrong, he had switched couple of numbers.(I checked it when I bought but overlooked it the main thing I check are the endorsements). I called TPWD in Austin they gave me another number. I called that and they resent it that day. Got it the next day.

It would take 2500 duckstamps per household income to resolve this debt ceiling. We so screwed

I wouldn't trust that at all. My bro-inlaw is 17 and was in a really bad car wreck a couple weeks back and is paralyzed from the chest down. I was on my way to the ICU at Baylor Dallas and (what I thought) the quickest exit was the HOV exit. I had my flashers on and everything and a Dallas Sherrif is sitting there pulling people over, before he can even pull me over I pull in behind him and begin to explain my situation. He cuts me off and says, I don't care what you have to save give me your license, and then writes me a $300 ticket after he sat on his car 20 min chitchatting with the other officer. He goes to hand me my stuff back through my passenger door and I have to lean across to get it from him. When I do, he jerks his hand back inside the window and screams if I try and grab his hand again he's taking my beeping beep to jail in his beeping car. At this point I'm totally lost as to what just happened and tried to explain myself. Again he cut me off and told me to take my beep down the road. I contacted his superior officer and she said he didn't have his mic on to record it, he's sorry about the misunderstanding and to have a good day. So now I have to contest that in court. So knowing my luck, I'd get a game warden the same way. Would it be possible to go directly to the post office and get one? Thanks for all the input and sorry bout the rant.....I'm not bitter at all......

Look for an old thread on this from last year. I had the email address or phone number of the person to reach out to. She sent the stamp right away.

A duck stamp that you have proof of purchase is a little different then a traffic stop.

Ran into this same issue last year myself. Called TPWD and they were able to verify that I had indeed purchased a stamp and sent out a new one, got it in a couple of days

I bought 10 at the post office. One for each of my kids, my daughters friend, a buddy and, myself. I put 2 back to collect and always have a couple extra for hunters.

Post Office is the way to go.

This is what I don't get. if you pay $15 to the post office and get your hard copy of a duck stamp it is good until the next one come out the following year. but this proof of purchase is only good for 45 days? that's the dumbest thing I have ever heard of. Im not making a dig at you just the thought process behind it.

I agree, it doesn't make since, but a warden will not except the expired print out on your license. Learned that the hard way when forgot my stamp in the truck. Was a long walk to the truck and back to prove I had my stamp, so I didn't get a ticket.

If you would have gotten a ticket I would have contested it in court. I believe that if the judge had any sense he would dismiss it. if he didn't I would probably go to jail for cussing him out and being completely livid because it is bs.

Ok I'm off my soap
