Seriously. I've seen cattle do it, but I wonder if whitetail will? The land I'm going to buy has two creeks on it. One creek cuts me off to the big woods that look like a dear haven. I'll probably build a bridge that'll hold up a UTV. Maybe there's two places for game cams? One on each side.

They will cross regardless. Never seen one one a bridge but I don't see why not.

They cross the river all the time on my lease....ive seen them swimming across cow creek in amistad as well...

They won't cross that sort of bridge. They really don't choose to cross a road sized bridge

They'll probably just cross the creek, unless it's in flood stage. Though I have seen them on my front porch eating pumpkins out of a wheelbarrow, while I'm inside with the TV blaring, so I think they'll go wherever they want.

What I was thinking.

I wouldn't mess with it, but the banks of the creek are so steep I can't go down, across, up, even when it's dry.

I will put up signs so they know they can pass free of troll, and toll.

All day long. I have a similar situation in Boerne on the property I hunt. The deer, both WT and Axis, very much prefer to cross the creek on the cement car bridge.

I have seen plenty of deer run over on highway bridges, don't see why not.

I guess I envisioned a bridge made of cedar post or something. Deer are flaky when it comes to their footing. Thats why you can have a 4 foot fence with a standoff (ledge) and the really won't jump it.

Envision piers on both sides, I beam, and lumber for decking.

Search the internet. There are pics of deer walking across raised structure bridges. I would think they need to be one solid surface though since they have poor depth perception. I have seen dead deer on bridges and culverts on IH-10 going to west Texas. I have seen a pic a friend took of a buck walking across a county road bridge. Put some corn up to it and over it with a TC there. Let us now what happens.

Real question is..will the bear still be able to crap in the woods (if those woods are a national park and closed) with the goverment shut down?

Back in '09 we had a wildfire blow through our place and destroy all the trailers we had in camp. We took one of the trailer frames, laid it across a dry creek bed about 6 feet deep, and decked it with 2x6s. Made a perfect bridge for running four wheelers across. There's been many a time that we've seen tracks on the bridge, deer, hogs, cats, whatever.
