Happened to me this morning. Got up at my alarm, got in my truck, got down the block and realized I had a flat tire. Reversed to home, fixed it, then I was off.

Got to where I was going to sit, sat, and fell asleep. Woke up at 8:30. Oops. So much for this mornings hunt. Stayed around til 10, but I have a feeling I was snoring all morning, and no deer came by that I noticed...

But at least I am now well rested.....

I nod off at times...but never hit the full blown sleep. Don't recommend doing that in a tree stand...

usually sleep a little bit in the pop up every afternoon!

I don't always shoot deer, but when I do, I prefer B&C's.

My blind is my bedroom, I can move from the chair to the bed in a second.

I've taken many 2-10 cat minute naps while hunting the afternoon. Great way to rejuvinate.

First time I've ever flat out fallen asleep on a morning hunt though.

Bathroom is out the bedroom door and first door to the left. I am crippled so I hunt out of the bedroom window of our cabin. The cabin sets on the edge of a wheat field and the feeder is about a 100 yards to the northeast.

Anybody that tells you they haven't slept in a deer blind with a fall breeze cooling their face while the sun warms their belly is either a) lying through his teeth, or b) missing out on one of life's little pleasures!

yep!
Never really knock out because I am afraid I am going to miss something though.

We are going to put a reclining chair under each blind this year though for all day hunts..
Elevated blinds that are brushed in so should be able to sneak out and down.. Will have rifle with me though smile

No,

But my hunting party is notorious for passing out in the stand. Mornings or evenings... I'm usually the guy dropping off and picking everyone up... Cruster (on here) is the worst! I love climbing up his stand ladders, putting my head in the window and screaming. He's 6'10", so he freaks out and stands up and bashes his head... everytime. This happens, literally, every hunt. He'll learn one day, this will be only his second season to really hunt with us. Rest of us are going on season 20 together.

Only one I don't give crap about passing out is DoubleDrop14... because when he passes out he tends to wake up just as a monster is in shooting range... hence his screen name.

I haven't fallen totally asleep YET in a tree stand, but I always wear a safety harness so I guess if I do I won't hit the ground. I can definitely see how it can happen though - sometimes on those morning hunts sitting up in a tree in the pitch black dark waiting for the sun to come up I do get a little drowsey.

I hunt with my 10 year old son, we take turns napping. One person sleeps while the other has eyes on the field.

My stand has a tin roof. The sound of rain on it always puts me to sleep. When the rain ends, the woods come alive. If only we had some rain.
