Has anyone used the lithium batteries in their cams and do they extend the life?

lithium is a much much better battery and will last longer. They are quite a bit more though.

I left a camera out last year from June until January on one set of AA lithium batteries.

All of my cameras that use AA have lithium. I've been looking at the carriers that let you use AA in D cameras. They are light and last much longer.

I have switched 2 of mine to feeder batteries and solar panels. Much less of a headache.

This. They really do last a long time(in a Moultrie M80XT anyway). I left a camera out last year from June until January on one set of AA lithium batteries.

What are these "carriers" that allow you to substitute AA lithiums in a D-cell slot? I always use lithium batteries in my photography equipment, and I think it would pay in the long run to use them in my scout cameras....which require D batteries.

Lithium batteries may not be suggested by your camera manufacturer.

Energizer Ultra Lithium. 4 months in my cameras and over 1700 pictures, and still have 250 days showing on battery life.
