Has anyone else noticed the amount of rifle fire this week? It has sounded like opening week of rifle season here at my parents place in Montague and at our lease in Clay county.

or MLD II. I was hoping for a doe this weekend and a boar made the mistake of finally showing up for the party.
Having said that, shot placement is key and there is only one level of dead. Us east Texans can't afford turquoise and elk ivories for jewelry. So we use hog tushes and coon peckers.

We're on MLD in Archer County.. I haven't heard that much rifle fire going on, but I have heard many shots from Dove and Duck hunters...

MLD land for sure!
Where I hunt, it sounded like a war zone on opening morning of archery season.
Big guns going off all around close and far right at first light.
Between that and the dove hunters it was pretty wild.

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.
